Divisional Controller, Skyline Apartment
Skyline is seeking an experienced, tech-forward, and business-savvy Divisional Controller to join our dynamic Head Office team in Guelph, Ontario.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you'll be a key financial leader responsible for organizing and managing daily and ongoing financials functions for Skyline Real Estate Limited Partnership (the corporation aka Skyline Living) and Skyline Apartment REIT (as managed by Skyline Real Estate Limited Partnership). From monthly to year-end reporting, your work will help shape and sustain the integrity of our organization. You’ll also take the lead in developing and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures that keep our finances as solid as our foundations.
This is an in-office position (because we still believe in building relationships face-to-face).

- You have exceptional accounting and finance skills, with a deep understanding of theory, principles, and practical application. You can “connect the dots” in complex data and turn insights into smart recommendations.

 - You can translate financial jargon into business English (or vice versa) and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure accuracy and clarity.
 - You're a trusted business partner who knows how to collaborate with internal leaders to maintain financial accuracy and provide strategic insight.
 - You have a strong knowledge of property accounting, forecasting, cash flow, budgets, tax filing, mortgages, and amortization schedules.
 - You either have previous experience with Yardi, or you're a quick learner that can adopt to new software with ease.
 - You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with minimum eight years of progressive professional accounting experience, including previous supervisory experience.
 - You are CPA designated (this is required).
 - Previous experience in a real estate, REIT, or an assessment management company organization is strongly preferred.
