IT System Administrator, Team Lead

Are you passionate about managing a broad range of IT related tasks and projects to reach a shared goal of profitable operation through increased efficiency? As an IT System Administrator, Team Lead you would maintain Skyline’s network and Business systems to meet the needs of internal and external clients and ensuring consistent and efficient operation of systems and networks. The IT System Administrator, Team will act as mentor to assist other IT System Administrator team members. They are responsible for identifying, researching, diagnosing, and resolving complex business systems and network related issues to reach Skyline’s shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.
What will you be doing:
- Provide advanced technical and analytical expertise in the development, maintenance and support of Skyline’s critical business management systems including the hardware and networking infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex issues occurring onsite at Skyline corporate offices and properties including such things as TCP/IP networks, including routers, switches, wireless access points (WAPs), and other networking equipment.
- Maintain and review escalated tickets for performance issues and mentoring opportunities.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, training and direction to System Administrators.
- Facilitate the channel between the various teams within IT to find solutions, build technical partnerships and broker assistance as required.
- Organize group training or technical support documents, as necessary.
- In collaboration with Senior Manager, Information Technology and key stakeholders, organize, plan, design and implementation of the business and network infrastructure.
- Provide reports of system usage at a network, business and user level as required.
- Expertise in Microsoft technologies and problem-solving company needs.
- Understanding and experience in ITIL framework including Incident, Change and Asset Management.
- Patience, patience, patience! And a sense of humour that goes a long way to make our internal customers feel more comfortable with technology.
- A technical guru with experience in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks, including routers, switches, WAPs, and other networking equipment.
- You love and have experience working with servers, virtualization, operating systems, and storage area networks.
- A perfectionist when it comes to maintaining procedures (SOPs) for a variety of areas including server and network use, problematic user issues, back-up procedures, etc.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years post-secondary education and 2 years relevant workplace experience OR equivalent combination of education and workplace experience.
